Five nomination papers rejected in Chamarajanagar

CHAMARAJANAGAR: Five nomination papers were rejected during a scrutiny here on Thursday. Ninety-four papers of 55 candidates were found in order.
A total of 99 nomination papers were filed in Chamarajanagar district by 56 candidates between April 16 and 23. Twenty-eight papers were filed by 17 candidates in Hanur. Nineteen papers were filed in Kollegal by 11 candidates. Of them, the former MLA S. Balaraju’s papers claiming the Congress support, without enclosing the B Form, were rejected during the scrutiny.
But his papers submitted as an independent candidate were found in order. With this, 18 papers were found in order in Kollegal.
A.S. Mallesh had filed four sets of papers for Chamarajanagar seat. Of them, three photocopies were rejected. With this, 29 papers by 18 candidates were found in order for Chamarajanagar seat. Papers of Krishna Murthy of BSP were rejected. Papers of Venkataramana Shetty of BSP were found in order. A total of 23 papers were filed for Gundlupet seat by 10 candidates. Of them, 22 were found in order.
