Convict’s plea admitted

NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court on Thursday admitted an appeal by Pradeep Sharma against his conviction in the Shivani Bhatnagar murder case. Admitting the appeal, a Division Bench of the Court comprising Justice Vikramjit Sen and Justice Rajiv Endlaw also issued a notice to the Delhi Police on a plea for grant of bail by the accused.

The Special Public Prosecutor in the case accepted the notice. The Bench will take up the bail plea for hearing on May 28. A Delhi court had last month sentenced Pradeep Sharma to life imprisonment holding him guilty of strangulating journalist Shivani Bhatnagar to death.
