125 nominations rejected

BANGALORE: The nomination papers of 125 candidates have been rejected on various grounds in the 11 districts going to the polls in the first phase on May 10.

Prominent leaders whose nomination papers have been rejected are Kodihalli Chandrashekar of the Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha, who had filed his papers from Hassan constituency, and film actor Jaijagadish, who had filed his papers from Madikeri as a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidate. Their papers were rejected on technical grounds. — Special Correspondent
