Geetanjali Nagpal fit to lead normal life

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: A court here on Thursday was informed that Geetanjali Nagpal, the former fashion model who was found begging on the streets of Delhi in September 2007 and underwent psychiatric rehabilitation, was doing fine and could be released to live a normal life

The medical report, filed by VIMHANS’ Dr. Jitender Nagpal in the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Ravinder Bedi, said Geetanjali was now independent, confident and insightful.

The report also thanked a Hisar school, where Geetanjali was pursuing a vocational course, and the Delhi Commission for Women for helping her in rehabilitation.

According to the report, the former model had begun cooperating with her once estranged mother and was independently carrying out her daily work. The court admitted the report and is likely to pass further directions on a later date.
