Krishna district junior basketball teams chosen

VIJAYAWADA: The following players will represent Krishna district in the State junior inter-district basketball championship for boys and girls at Kakinada from May 1 to 4.

The teams:

Juniors: Boys: N. Satish, Abdullah, Kiran Kumar, Kishore, Nagabhushanam, Ravi (Vijayawada), Mallikharjun Rao, Anvesh, Bhavani (Gudivada), Naga Madhu, Baji, Sai Srinivas (Nuzvid).

Girls: Dhanalakshmi, Ch. Jyothi, E. Jyothi, Kanakamahalakshmi, Allivelumanga, D. Durga Bhavani, V. Durga Bhavani, Roja Rani (Nuzvid), Monalisa, Aliya, Madhu (Nuzvid).

Camp venues

City’s Gandhiji Municipal High School, Municipal grounds at CRK Indoor Stadium and CBR Sports Academy at Kethanakonda will be the venues for Krishna District Women’s Cricket Association’s summer camp.

Conditioning camp

The Visakhapatnam District Cricket Association is conducting a district-level conditioning camp during 2006-07.

The selected players are to attend trials at the ACA-VDCA stadium here at 8 a.m. at April 27.

Players for trials

Krishna District Cricket Association has selected the following players in the age group of u-13, u-16, u-19 and u-22 for the trials to be held on April 28 to select players for the ACA- KDCA intensive coaching camp at the IGMC Stadium.

The camp would commence on May 1 and ends on May 21.

ACA has appointed former Andhra cricketers K.V.S.D. Kamaraj and R.S.R. Murthy as selectors to select 20 players for the camp.

Former Andhra skipper V. Vijayasaradhi will be the coach.

The players should report at the KDCA office at IGMC Stadium on May 28 at 7.30 a.m. for registration.

AOC posts win

AOC Centre recorded a solitary goal win over City College Old Boys in the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy Challenge Cup prize money football tournament at the Trimulgherry Village Grounds here on Thursday.

The match-winner came in the 15th minute through striker Dule.
