BHUBANESWAR: Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited, will establish a medical college at the industrial town of Talcher. The decision was taken during a meeting between Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Coal India Chairman Partha Sarathi Bhattacharya here on Thursday. As per the decision, MCL will increase the bed strength of its existing 100-deded hospital to hospital with bed strength of 400 and make it a medical college. Mr. Bhattacharya said that MCL would also establish a model rehabilitation centre for the tribals who had been displaced due to mining of coal.
