30 villagers arrested for staging road roko

NAGAPTTINAM: About 30 villagers including 10 women were arrested on Thursday for staging a sudden road roko obstructing traffic on the main road at Kollidam in Nagapattinam district to protest against the stopping of widening of road at Thirubhuvanaveeramangalam village near Kollidam. The officials had stopped the road improvement work following the refusal of two villagers to give their land for widening of the road.
