No Parliament sitting from May 1 to 4
Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI: Parliament will not have a sitting on May 2. Since May 1 is a holiday and the weekend falls on May 3 and 4, there will be no sitting from May 1 to 4.
The decision in relation to the Lok Sabha was taken at the first meeting of the Business Advisory Committee. The members felt that once they are in their constituencies, it would be inconvenient to come back for a day before the weekend. For the Rajya Sabha, the decision to observe May 2 as a no-sitting day was taken by the BAC.
The naming of an AIADMK member in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday was also mentioned at the BAC meeting. The general view was that this should not have happened.
