CHENNAI: Southern Railway notched up its second win, beating defending champion Indian Bank 25-18, 25-23, 21-25, 25-22 in an exciting men’s league match of the Panimalar-John memorial volleyball tournament here on Thursday. Good displays by Gopal and Mukesh Lal proved the turning point for Southern Railway which had beaten ICF earlier. However, the Southern Railway women had a bad day, losing to KSEB despite the brave efforts of Anu Mol. KSEB (Thiruvananthapuram) won 24-26, 25-15, 21-25, 25-13, 15-5 with Ashwini and Jomol playing well. Other results: Men: Cochin Port Trust bt ICF 25-23, 25-17, 20-25, 20-25, 15-9; BPCL bt SDAT 25-15, 25-13, 25-17.
