Munsif Additional District Court opened at Vaniyambadi
Staff Reporter
VANIYAMBADI: Advocates should not boycott court proceedings as it would lead to unwanted delay in disposal of cases, P. Ramakrishnan, Principal District Session Judge, Vellore, said here on Friday.
Inaugurating the Munsif Additional District Court at Vaniyambadi, he said more than 1,000 cases were pending for disposal in Vaniyambadi owing to frequent court boycotts.
This increased the financial burden of the petitioners. The Munsif Court and Judge A. Murugan should see to it that the cases are disposed in time.
He said that Kerala was the State that stood first in the disposal of cases and Tamil Nadu, second.
It should soon move to the first place, Mr. Justice Ramakrishnan said.
Vellore Collector Dharmendra Pratap Yadav said that the court should concentrate on disposal of petty cases. It would be better if the affected parties settled such issues among themselves. The police should play a more active role in resolving such issues, he added.
District Munsif Judicial Magistrate, Vaniyambadi, R. Sridharan welcomed the gathering.
The portraits of B.R. Ambedkar and Thiruvalluvar were unveiled. Vellore Superintendent of Police Arivuselvam was present.
