THRISSUR: Minister for Revenue K.P. Rajendran on Friday said the government would conduct a magisterial inquiry into the incident in which an elephant killed three persons at the Koodalmanikya temple in Irinjalakuda on Wednesday. The Minister disclosed this while meeting officials, people’s representatives and Devaswom officials at the temple office. “The government will extend support to conducting every temple rite. There should be no break with tradition. At the same time, people visiting the temple and the festival should be safe,” he said. Visits familyLater, he called on relatives of Kausalya and Nidheesh, who were killed by the elephant.Devaswom Minister G. Sudhakaran will hand over the government’s assistance of Rs.1 lakh to the kith and kin of the deceased on April 26.
