Increase in pensions sought

NEW DELHI: The Leader of the Opposition in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, J. K. Sharma, has written to Delhi Mayor Arti Mehra demanding an increase in the monthly pension of senior citizens, widows and differently-abled persons.

In a statement on Friday, Mr. Sharma said: “The Rs.500 being paid at present is not sufficient to make ends meet. The amount should be increased to at least Rs.1,000 on the lines of the Delhi Government.”
