Kozhikode: The police here arrested two persons on charges of misbehaving with a British national while she was travelling in an autorickshaw from Kunnamangalam to Kozhikode early on Friday. A case under Section 354 of the IPC had been charged against Anwar Jamal and autorickshaw driver Abdul Khader based on a complaint lodged at the Kasaba police station by 19-year-old Kirsty Goss. The foreigner, who was in the country as a tourist, told the police that after reaching the city by bus from Udhagamandalam, she had by mistake boarded a Bangalore-bound bus from the KSRTC bus stand even though she intended to go to Thiruvananthapuram. She got down at the bus stand at Kunnamangalam and took an autorickshaw back to Kozhikode. According to her complaint, the autorickshaw driver and his friend asked her to get down some distance away from the bus stand. They allegedly attacked her when she insisted that she would pay the fare only if she was dropped at the KSRTC bus stand. Since she had given the number of the autorickshaw, the police were able to make the arrests without delay.
