CHENNAI: The police arrested a man on charges of violating the provisions of the Emigration Act, here on Friday. Following a complaint from the Protector of Emigrants, the police registered a case. Investigations revealed that Jansi, wife of A.A. Rahman of Palakkad, had approached A.M. Ismail (44) of Amman Koil Street, Vadapalani, seeking employment abroad. He had promised to get her the job of a receptionist in a firm in Dubai. However, she went to Dubai on a tourist visa on November 15, 2007, and was allegedly forced to dance in night clubs and restaurants. Following her complaint to the Protector of Emigrants, the police arrested Ismail. Firm not registeredBased on his confessions, the police found that the accused had not registered his firm as per the law to recruit candidates for organisations offering employment abroad.
