Land allocated to ayurvedic hospital

VIJAYAWADA: Krishna district Collector Shailaja Ramaiyer on Friday said five acres of land had been allocated to the Government Ayurvedic Hospital in the city for growing medicinal plants.
Presiding over a meeting of the hospital’s advisory committee in her capacity as its chairperson, Ms. Ramaiyer said the land for the purpose had been allocated at Cheruvu Madhavaram village in G. Konduru mandal of the district. She said that responding to the proposal sent for comprehensive development of the hospital, which included growing medicinal plants in a big way and construction of an additional structure, the Government had released funds to the tune of Rs. 1 crore for the construction of the first floor to house in-patient wards and U.G.C classrooms. Hospital development committee member G. S. Raju and Superintendent M.B Shankar Rao were present.
