3 held in West Delhi murder case

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: Three persons have been arrested in connection with a sensational murder-cum-robbery at Bindapur in West Delhi earlier this month. One of the accused has been identified as Shyam Singh, a carpenter who had visited the victim’s house several times and was aware of the family’s financial status. The other two accused are Dharmender (20) and Bablu (24), while the fourth accomplice is absconding.

The four allegedly entered the house with the intention of committing robbery and stabbed Garima to death before making off with jewellery and cash. They left a four-year-old girl Aastha injured taking her to be dead. The girl, however, survived and identified Shyam.

A police team under Assistant Commissioner of Police (Punjabi Bagh) A. K. Lall mounted electronic surveillance and arrested the trio at Bindapur on Friday. Two gold ear rings, two gold necklaces, a gold bangle and Rs.14,500 in cash have allegedly been recovered. A .315 bore country-made pistol and five cartridges have been seized..
