BANGALORE: T.V. Venkatachala Shastri, researcher, has been selected for ‘Masti Prashasti 2008 Award’ instituted by Dr. Masti Venkatesh Iyengar Award Committee. This award will be conferred on persons who have done yeomen service to Kannada Literature. Seventy-five-year-old Shastri is a retired lecturer of Mysore University. The award will be conferred on Mr. Shastri in June 2008. The award includes a citation, memento, and a cash prize of Rs. 25,000, said committee chairman Mavinakere Ranganath in a release. Mr. Shastri has also served as visiting professor of Hampi Kannada University.
