A narrow escape

Staff Correspondent

SHIMLA: Senior civil aviation officials and some employees of a private airline, MDLR, had a narrow escape on Saturday when the two rear tyres of a four-jet engine aircraft, BAE Avro RJ-70, on a trial run burst soon after landing at Bhuntar airport in Kullu.

At least eight persons were on board the aircraft at the time.

Runway blocked

The 70-seater plane has not been removed from the runway so far, blocking the landing of other aircraft, said officials.
