CHENNAI: B.K. Rout of the AYN had an impressive day at the Vestas National Laser Coastal Sailing championship, with two first places and a second in the Standard (Full Rig) class on Saturday. Rajesh Choudhary finished second and third before coming into his own to finish ahead of Rout in the third race. The Laser Standard, comprising 20 boats, features past national champions who have represented the country in the Laser Worlds at Australia. The races were held in fairly calm conditions with the wind blowing at a sedate 10 knots from the East South East and the sea was mostly placid with gentle undulating swells. The conditions were conducive for sailors who got off to a good start. In the Laser Radial fleet the first race was won by Anil Sharma from NSS Bhopal.
