BANGALORE: Mounts Club girls stunned Sports Hostel Mysore 44-42 on a day when both the Indiranagar Basketball Club (IBBC) teams scored thrilling wins to advance into the semifinal league of the State Junior basketball championship at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium courts here on Saturday. Vignesh with five three pointers led IBBC to a 42-38 win over Rangers (Mysore) in the boys’ quarterfinal tie. IBBC girls also proved its worth winning 37-35 over Viveks SC. Both the JSC teams also made it to the last four stage with convincing victories. The results: Quarterfinals: Boys: Jayanagar SC 53 (Nandakumar 10) bt VN Sports Club 32 (Akash Subbaiah 18); IBBC 42 (Vignesh 17, Dilip 10) bt Rangers (Mysore) 38 (Subash 13, Mayur 11); Beagles 53 (Girish 22) bt Young Orions 21 (Vinay 10). Girls: Jayanagar SC 43 (Vijayalakshmi 15) bt Pattabhiramanagar SC 11; IBBC 37 (Sumana 18) bt Vivek SC 35 (Akshatha 11); Mounts Club 44 (Sandhya 15) bt Sports Hostel (Mysore) 42 (Sneha Priya 14). — Special Correspondent
