‘Alumni meets contribute to professional growth’

DHARWAD: Director and principal of the S.D.M. College of Engineering and Technology M.N. Sudhindra Rao has said that alumni meets are essential and will always facilitate professional growth.

Inaugurating the seventh annual conference of “Spandana”, the alumni association of the S.D.M. Dental College here on Saturday, Dr. Rao said exchange of information on developments in the professional field had been made possible through such meets, which in turn paved the way for professional advancement. He also called upon the members of the alumni association to contribute to the development of their alma mater as well as the students by serving as a link between academics and the industry.

Presiding over the function, principal of the college C. Bhasker Rao traced the history of the two-decade-old institution. He said such conventions should lead to conferences on the developments in the field of dentistry, which would help students update their knowledge and skills. President of the association Achut Deverhubli welcomed the gathering. Vice-president Sudhindra Kulkarni compered the programme and Satyabodh Guttal proposed a vote of thanks.
