BANGALORE: Art work by children across the globe went on display at the Children’s Art Work Gallery here on Sunday. Not only did the paintings win the hearts of the children, but their parents who accompanied them to the inauguration of the art gallery at Bal Bhavan were equally impressed. Lakshmishree’s paintings titled “Gangavatharana,” Lakshmiprasad Achar’s works on nature and Shivaprasad Achar’s village scenes were among over 200 paintings on display at the venue. The World of Art, Europe, in association with the World Art Foundation of Bangalore and Jawahar Bal Bhavan Society, organised the first International Children’s Art Work Gallery. Paintings by children from India and countries such as Korea, Ukraine, Indonesia, Bulgaria, Russia and Sri Lanka were on display. On the occasion, twenty-five young achievers in various sections including painting and drawing, and music and sports, received the Queen Elizabeth and Leonardo Da Vinci Awards instituted by World of Art, Europe. Among the award-winners were the world’s youngest film director and actor Master Kishan and youngest pilot Shriya Dinakar. Participating in the function, poet K.S. Nisar Ahmed said there was no dearth of talent in Karnataka, but we had failed to identify them. The former Lokayukta N. Venkatachala, actor Prema and Bangalore City Police Commissioner N. Achuta Rao were present.
