‘Pass on information’

BANGALORE: The Karnataka State Harijan Sevak Sangh has appealed to the public that if they come across places that have been visited by Mahatma Gandhi, buildings inaugurated by him or any letter relating to him and historical places, they may send it to the general secretary, Karnataka State Harijan Sevak Sangh, Gandhi Bhavan, Kumara Park East, by post, or contact on Ph: 9945332650.

In a release, the general secretary said that such information was needed for the Centre’s “Gandhi Parampara” drive which would help the future generation to know more about the Father of the Nation.

The Karnataka Sahitya Academy has invited applications from authors for the best book award for 2007. The book should have been published between January 1 and December 31, 2007. The applicants should send a copy of their book to the Registrar, Karnataka Sahitya Academy, Kannada Bhavan, 2nd Floor, J.C. Road, on or before June 30 by post. For details, call 22211730.
