IGNOU to start course in retailing

Also includes internship with a stipend by reputed companies


NEW DELHI: Indira Gandhi National Open University in collaboration with Retailers’ Association of India, Mumbai, has launched a diploma course in retailing for the July 2008 session.

The one-year programme includes an internship of six months with a stipend offered by reputed companies.

Candidates having cleared Class XII can apply for the programme. Those who have appeared in the Class XII examination this year will also be eligible to apply. However, such candidates will be required to submit proof of having passed the examination before July 31. Students will be selected on merit. There will also be an interview at the designated IGNOU regional centre.

Candidates directly sponsored by the retail industry will also be admitted. The application form can be downloaded from www.ignou.ac.in
