Devendra scalps six

Dindigul: T. Devendra Kumar’s six for 31 helped Sri Vasantha Sweets Cricket Club defeat Jahir Cricket Club, Vedasandur by 30 runs in the Canara Bank-DDCA first division league at Dindigul on Sunday.

M. Thanga Paramasivam’s five for 29, including a hat-trick, went in vain for Jahir CC.

The scores:

First division:

Sri Vasantha Sweets CC 131 in 25.4 overs (M. Thanga Paramasivam five for 29) bt Jahir CC, Vedasandur 101 in 21.4 overs (T. Devendra Kumar six for 31).

Third division:

Mansur CC 139 in 20.5 overs (N. Muthu 44, A. Senthil six for 28, Ganesh four for 14) bt Warriors CC, Nilakottai 108 in 20 overs.

Narrow win

Vijayaraja’s (five for 35) helped Double Star Cricket Club defeat G.K. Cricket Club by four runs in the Tirunelveli DCA first division league at Sankarnagar on Sunday.

The scores:

Double Star CC 153 in 30 overs (Senthilkumar four for 25) bt GK CC 149 in 25 overs (Siva 46, Vijayaraja five for 35).

Majestic CC 135 in 26.3 overs lost to India Cements CC 139 for three in 22.3 overs (Raja Durai 65 not out, Nirmal Kumar 54).

Ganesh scores hat-trick

A hat-trick by Bala Ganesh and one goal each by Sundara Pandian and Pradeep Kumar helped Vaigai Sports Club thrash Adimas Football Club in the Madurai DFA ‘C’ division league at Madurai on Sunday.

In another match, Ismail Football Club beat Redeem Football Club 1-0.

Arun Kumar scored the match-winner.

In yet another ‘B’ division match, Anfing scored the winner as Bosco XI defeat Railway Institute 1-0.
