Anti-capitalist social revolution is need of the hour: SUCI leader

Staff Correspondent

DHARWAD: The State unit secretary of the Socialist Unity Centre of India (SUCI), K. Radhakrishna, has underscored the need for developing democratic agitations into anti-capitalist social revolution for solving the problems plaguing the country.

He was speaking at the district organising committee meeting and the 60th foundation day celebrations of the SUCI, here on Saturday.

Mr. Radhakrishna said that capitalist society was on the verge of collapse and that was why “anti-people” policies were being implemented. People belonging to all sections should contribute to bring about a change in society, he said.

Agitations

He then spoke about the agitations being carried out by the SUCI on various issues. The SUCI had become a voice of the exploited people, he added.

Presiding over the function, district unit secretary of SUCI Ramanjanappa Aldalli said that power was transferred from the British to Indian capitalists after independence.

Although the Communist Party of India came into existence with the aim of providing a voice to the exploited people, it had failed to fulfil its objective, he said.

The CPI’s failure in this regard led to the founding of the SUCI by Shibdas Ghosh, he said.

SUCI organising committee members H.G. Desai and Panchanan Hiremath were present.
