Special Correspondent

Thiruvananthapuram: A two-day national seminar on spatial technologies organised by the Kerala State Land Use Board here from Monday will discuss the application of spatial technologies such as remote sensing, the Global Positioning System (GPS) and the Geographical Information System (GIS) in land-use planning, natural-resources management, environmental monitoring and disaster management.

Land Use Commissioner P.K. Mohanty said the seminar would provide a platform for various organisations in Kerala and other States to share experiences in the utilisation of spatial technologies. It was expected to help planners, administrators, panchayat functionaries, scientists and line departments.
