KANNUR: Wayanad, Malappuram, Kannur, Kottayam and Palakkad moved into quarterfinals in the boys’ section of the 25th State youth basketball championships at the Marygiri SSS courts here on Sunday. In the girls’ section, Kollam, Kottayam, Alapuzha, Pathanamthitta, Kasaragod, Thrissur, Thiruvananthapuram and Kannur completed the quarterfinal line-up. The results: Boys: Group ‘B’: Wayanad 38 (A.R. Ajith 11) bt Idukki 7; Malappuram 40 (V.P. Jithin 12, P.K. Ishan 10) bt Idukki 12. Group ‘C’: Kottayam 30 (Lijin John 10) bt Alapuzha 11. Group ‘D’: Palakkad 64 (Tobin Kleetus 23, Varun Augustine 22, Justin Jose 12) bt Kasaragod 57 (Mahesh 21). Girls: Group ‘A’: Alapuzha bt Kollam 10-2. Group ‘C’: Kasargod 22 (M.J. Honey 10) bt Kozhikode 10; Thrissur 22 (Anu Thomas 10) bt Idukki 8; Kasaragod bt Thrissur 18-10. Group ‘D’: Thiruvananthapuram bt Palakkad 30-10.
