Narrow road

In One-Town area of Eluru, the road from Ambica theatre to Dongala Mandapam is a narrow stretch. The vehicular traffic is very high in this stretch in the morning and evening hours. It is difficult even to walk on this road during the peak hours. With a few house owners occupying a portion of the road near Dongala Mandapam to develop greenery outside their compound walls, the size of the road has been reduced further. I wonder how the civic authorities allowed the house owners to occupy the road. I request them to understand the plight of road users and take necessary steps to widen the road.

A piece of advice to political leaders

Consequent to announcement of the dates of by-elections by the Election Commission, there began most unprecedented jubilance in the offices of different political parties in the State. In this connection, the most disgusting and unwanted political speeches are being aired through electronic media. As matters stand present, the speeches made by our leaders are vitriolic and full of diatribe. They must take to cognizance that thousands of television viewers are watching them. I request the leaders to stop personal accusations and focus on works they propose to do.

Problems galore at Government hospitals

For the last one-and-a-half month, Government hospitals and primary health centres in Nellore district have not been supplying iron tablets, which are essential for pregnants. In some hospitals, the quarters meant for Government doctors have been lying vacant. Though the doctors are supposed to reside in the quarters and available to the patients round-the-clock, they are not doing so. Many patients are being deprived of emergency care due to non-availability of doctors at Government hospitals. I request all the three Ministers for Health and Medical Care in the State to make some efforts to solve these problems, which are, more or less, common in most of the Government hospitals.

Relocate mutton shops

Mutton shops on the road margins are posing a threat to sanitation and environment. Though the civic authorities are supposed to identify sites and relocate the chicken and mutton shops, it is not being implemented in Bapatla town.

The shops are not only not only making the environs unclean, but also occupying a major chunk of the roads. As a result, road users are facing several problems. I request the officials concerned to take necessary steps to relocate the shops from the road margins.
