Mini general elections: TRS

Staff Reporter

Sangareddy: Former Member of Legislative Council and Telangana Rashtra Samiti leader R. Satyanarayana, speaking to reporters here on Sunday, said that the by-elections forced by his party should be considered as mini general elections.

Total washout

He said that the people of the region would give a verdict in the by-elections that could be applied to a broader canvass called general elections. He predicted a total washout of Congress and Telugu Desam candidates and was confident that the TRS would retain all the seats.

Commenting on Transportation Minister Jeevan Reddy’s comments on party chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao, Mr. Satyanarayana said that the people of the region know what was his stand on Telangana in 2004 elections and his stand after he became a minister. He pointed out that the Atma Gourava Sabha in Parade Grounds in the State capital on Sunday would once again vindicate the stand of TRS on Telangana issue. Earlier he flagged off a convoy of vans from here to Parade Grounds. Party leaders Narahari Reddy and Mandula Varalaxmi accompanied the convoy. Party district president M.Raghunandan Rao joined the convoy with his supporters from Patancheru.
