Student commits suicide

TAMBARAM: A 21-year-old student of an engineering college reportedly committed suicide at his house in Pallikaranai on Saturday evening.

Hailing from a village near Tindivanam, P. Parthiban, son of a farmer, was in his second year, pursuing computer science in a college in Selaiyur near Tambaram.

He was staying with a relative in Periyar Nagar, Pallikaranai, as his parents could not afford to accommodate him in a hostel. On Saturday, his relatives went out to attend a function. When they returned, they noticed him hanging from the ceiling.
