CPI (M) plea to remove wall

CHENNAI: The executive committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has urged the State Government to remove the wall constructed by caste Hindus in Uthapuram village in Peraiyur taluk in Madurai district, for preventing Dalits from entering their area.

The two-day meeting of the committee, which began here on Sunday, said it was unfortunate that the district administration had not taken any steps in this direction. — Special Correspondent
