Plea to Centre on creamy layer

CHENNAI: The Society for Social Justice and SC/ST Employees Associations here on Sunday organised a function to celebrate the 118th birth anniversary of B.R. Ambedkar and to thank the Centre for providing 27 per cent reservation for OBCs in higher education.

Speakers at the function congratulated Union Ministers Ram Vilas Paswan and Anbumani Ramadoss and leaders of various political parties for their efforts in making reservation in higher education a reality. They urged the Centre to take steps to remove the creamy layer concept. — Special Correspondent
