Congress suspends district secretary

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu Congress Committee suspended Kancheepuram North district secretary S.A. Tirumeni from the primary membership of the party for filing nomination against the party’s official candidate N. Gokulakrishnan in the Pallavaram Cantonment election. TNCC president M. Krishnasswamy, in a statement here on Saturday, appealed to partymen not to associate themselves with Mr. Tirumeni and to work for the victory of Mr. Gokulakrishnan. — Special Correspondent
