No stopping Rajesh Choudhary

CHENNAI: The Laser Full Rig fleet threw up the old favourite Rajesh Choudhary of AYN who found the stronger wind much to his liking and easily defeated all his compatriots on the second day of the races on Sunday in the Vestas National coastal sailing championship being held here.

Conditions were ideal for testing the skills of the sailors and all three fleets found the going hard. In the Laser Radial fleet, the gun was shared between the AYN’s Gajender Singh and INWTC Mumbai’s SS Yadav. NSS Bhopal who barged on to the National scene by winning one race and coming second in the other two found the conditions tough.

The day belonged to the Mumbai Sailors in the Radial fleet. In women’s fleet Rohini Rau of RMYC heads the table.

The results: (provisional): Laser Full Rig: Race 4: 1. Rajesh Choudhary (AYN), 2. Dharmendra Singh (AYN), 3. Jasvir Singh (AYN).

Race 5: 1. Rajesh Choudhary (AYN), 2. Dharmendra Singh (AYN), 3. Jasvir Singh (AYN).

Race 6: 1. Rajesh Choudhary (AYN), 2. D.P. Selvam (AYN), 3. Dharmendra Singh (AYN).

Laser Radial: Race 4: 1. S.S. Yadav (INWTC Mb); 2. Gajendar Singh (AYN), 3. Tapan Sarkar (AYN).

Race 5: 1. Gajendra Singh (AYN), 2. Parvinder Singh (AYN), 3. S.S. Yadav (INWTC Mb), Race 6: 1. Gajendra Singh (AYN), 2. Parvinder Singh (AYN), 3. S.S. Yadav (INWTC Mb)

Laser 4.7: Race 4: 1. Shwetha Sadanand (TNSA), 2. Xerxes Bamboat (RBYC), 3. Sarav Rajavelu (TNSA).

Race 5: 1. Xerxes Bamboat (RBYC), 2. Sarav Rajavelu (TNSA), 3. Sarad Singha(NSS).

Race 6: 1. Sarav Rajavelu (TNSA), 2. Xerxes Bamboat (RBYC), 3. Shwetha Sadanand (TNSA).
