Assault bid on minor

NEW DELHI: A man allegedly tried to criminally assault his four-year-old niece at Mangolpuri here on Sunday.
The police were informed about the incident on Sunday afternoon by a hospital where the girl was admitted. The police have recorded the statements of her parents.
In another incident, a highly decomposed body of a seven-year-old girl, who had gone missing from her house at Madanpur Khadar on April 23, was found in a drain at Sarita Vihar around 11-30 a.m. on Sunday. The police have not ruled out the possibility of criminal assault on her. The girl had gone missing while playing outside her house. Acting on a complaint, the police registered a case of abduction and launched a search operation.
