Man arrested in assault case

NEW DELHI: A 45-year-old man has been arrested on charges of criminally assaulting an eight-year-old girl who was found crying near a police post at Kamla Market here on Saturday.

The victim was found crying near the police post in the evening. The police took her to a hospital where it was confirmed that she had been assaulted.

Investigations led the police to zero in on Hansraj, a daily wager. During interrogation, he purportedly confessed to having committed the crime. The accused was known to the victim’s father.
