ALL FOR YOU: Tiruchi Collector T. Soundiah presenting educational kits to a student in Tiruchi. TIRUCHI: All the 1,200 students of the 34 Child Labour Special Schools run by the Child Labour Elimination and Effective Rehabilitation Society (CHEERS) in various parts of the district were provided with special kits by Collector T. Soundiah at a brief function held at the Collectorate recently. Books and bagsThe students, both boys and girls, were presented with ABL card trays, book bags, water bottles, play materials, etc., from the welfare fund. CHEERS Project Officer Manju was present. Ms. Manju said the students of the special schools run in various parts of the district under the National Child Labour Project (NCLP) have been excelling in studies not only in lower classes, but also in Plus Two and SSLC public examinations. 70 for SSLCThis year, seven boys and girls have appeared for the Plus Two examinations, about 70 have appeared for the SSLC examinations and another batch of 141 student for the class VIII examinations, she added.
