Peddagedda reservoir project oustees allege raw deal

VIZIANAGARAM: Two years after the inauguration of Peddagedda reservoir project in Pachipenta mandal, the process of rehabilitation of the displaced families has not yet been completed.

Talking to reporters on Monday, CPI (M) district secretary M. Krishna Murthy said that the 6-km-long road from Eguva Kummarivalasa to Bangaruguddi has not been laid so far despite promises. Tribals, who sell their forest produce at Pachipenta, have to trek an additional 15 km as the route to the weekly shandy was submerged under the project.
