JAIPUR: The Rajasthan Government has decided to set up reception desks in all panchayat samitis to provide information on various public welfare schemes to the villagers approaching the rural self-governing bodies. State Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Kalulal Gujjar said here on Monday that officials manning the reception desks would also offer guidance to the people for getting their work done or benefiting from the schemes. “We had noticed that the people in villages are often not able to get full benefits of schemes in the absence of proper information. The new arrangement will fill up the gaps in this sphere,” said Mr. Gujjar. The registers to be maintained at the reception desks will record all enquiries, complaints and problems of villagers. The Block Development Officers will check the registers at the end of every month and try to help the rural populace with their unresolved issues.
