SC leaders’ plea to PCC chief

SC leaders of the city Congress and others of the community on Monday requested PCC president D. Srinivas to give the post of Deputy Mayor of Vijayawada to one among them this time.

The leaders submitted a memorandum to Mr. Srinivas and explained to him that only twice the dalits had been given the post between 1987 and 1988 and never again. There were about 3 lakh dalits in the city, and justice should be done to them, they said.
