CHENNAI: Ransa Club (R.A. Puram) and Maharishi Vidya Mandir School (Chetput) have come together to organise table tennis camps at their respective premises that will extend up to May 16. Briefing newsmen here on Monday, the chief coach, V.M. Ravi Venkatesh (State coach), said the camps were for both middle level and advanced players and in keeping with the practice that was being following for a decade now, players from the camps who had gone on to play for the State were presented with gold rings. Six players were recognised for their progress last year. In addition, the organisers have decided on suitable compensation in train travel fare for players who participated in all-India ranking tournaments. Venkatesh highlighted the role of the sponsors, Build Craft, Hatsun Agro, Abirami Mega Mall, Thangamaligai, TTK Health Care, Arun Excello, Marg Ltd., Sastra University, Matexnet, SBI, Professional Couriers, Chennai Petroleum and Indian Oil, in making the camps a success. — Special Correspondent
