Double life sentence

NAMAKKAL: A Namakkal court on Tuesday awarded double life sentence to a person for murdering his parents. According to the prosecution Swamithurai of Vazhavanthi Kombai village beat his parents Muthappa Udaiyar and Chellam to death following a family dispute in July 2007.

After hearing the arguments, Principal District Judge A. Ratnavelu awarded double life sentence to Swamithurai. The judge, however, said that the sentences would run concurrently.
