Three held in Kashmir

Srinagar: Three persons, including a militant were arrested by the security forces in frontier districts of Kupwara and Baramulla, a defence spokesman said on Tuesday. The militant identified as Javid Ahmed Bhat was arrested during a joint search operation launched by troops of 30 Rashtriya Rifles and J-K police at Prongru in Kupwara district on Monday night, he said. A nine mm pistol, a magazine, a radio set and six rounds of ammunition were recovered from his possession, they said, adding that he was later handed over to police. In another operation, two suspects were arrested along with carrying one kg of gunpowder from a bus , the official said. - PTI
