Kakinada: Collector Gopalakrishna Dwivedi has ordered that utmost care be taken in the preparation of electoral rolls and the process completed by August 31 which is the deadline for their publication. It has also to be ensured that the electoral rolls are accompanied by good quality photographs of voters. Mr. Dwivedi stated in a press release that each booth-level officer has to get names and photographs of 120 voters fed into the computers every day and keep the MLAs concerned informed about it. The revenue division officers and tahsildars were instructed to conduct daily inspections to prevent any lapses. Door-to-door enumeration of the electoral rolls should done between May 1 and July 14 and scrutiny be completed by July 23. Claims for additions and deletions from the electoral rolls would be made from July 24 to August 7 and by the end of that month, the final list of voters would be published.
