CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Transport Department and the Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation have signed a reciprocal inter-State transport agreement under which 122,796 km would be covered on 405 routes by Haryana Roadways in Rajasthan, Haryana Transport Minister Mange Ram Gupta said here on Tuesday. He disclosed that the agreement was signed in Jaipur on April 25. The new routes include Kaithal-Salasar, Sirsa-Salasar, Narnaul-Chittor, Jind-Balaji, Delhi-Sardar Sahar via Narnaul, Yamunanagar-Jaipur, Jhajjar-Alwar, Jhajjar-Kota, Chandigarh-Pushkar, Delhi-Chittorgarh, Sirsa-Pokhran, Sirsa-Jodhpur, Jind-Jodhpur, Rewari-Kota, Narnaul-Kota, Narnaul-Bikaner, Narnaul-Chittorgarh, Faridabad-Jodhpur, Faridabad-Kota, Panipat-Kota, Bhiwani-Kota, Fatehabad-Balaji, Tohana-Rawala and Fatehabad-Jodhpur. Mr. Gupta said people in both the States would benefit from these new routes. He disclosed that under the last agreement signed in 1997, Haryana Roadways was covering 62,873 km and 236 routes in Rajasthan. The Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation and the private buses of Rajasthan would cover 130,828 km on 405 routes in Haryana, he added. The reciprocal agreement was signed by Haryana Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary (Transport Department) G. Prasanna Kumar and Rajasthan Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary (Transport Department) V. S. Singh in the presence of Mr. Gupta and his Rajasthan counterpart Mohammed Yunus Khan.
