Five more perish in heat

New Delhi: The pounding heat wave showed no signs of relenting as several States reeled under the merciless sun on Tuesday with five deaths reported in Orissa and Uttar Pradesh.

Hisar in Haryana sizzled at a high of 45 degrees Celsius as heat wave continued to prevail in the state and neighbouring Punjab where maximum temperatures hovered between three to six notches above normal.

Three die in Mathura

Three persons died Mathura in Uttar Pradesh, where heat related deaths went up to eight. Orai was the hottest place with a high of 44 degrees while capital Lucknow recorded 42.6 degree.
