MANGALORE: An unconfirmed media report about the arrest of those behind the abduction of Sarang Mohammad Naeem, an Indian engineer, in the Herat province in Afghanistan, has left the family oscillating between hope and doubt. Mr. Naeem was abducted while on official duty on Monday last. Mr. Naeem’s family at Gurukambla near here has been battling anxiety about his well being ever since. Mr. Naeem’s father, Mohammad Hussain Sarang, told The Hindu here that he had seen the news on a TV channel. Mr. Naeem works for the Dubai-based HEB International Logistics at the Kabul Air Base.
