New Chief Secretary for A.P.

HYDERABAD: P. Ramakanth Reddy, now serving as Chief Commissioner, Land Administration, has been appointed Chief Secretary of A.P. He will assume charge on Wednesday.

An IAS officer of the 1973 batch, Mr. Reddy is a seasoned administrator, having served as Collector of different districts and as CMD, AP Transco, during a crucial period after APSEB was unbundled under reforms. Speaking to The Hindu, Mr Reddy said “As I occupy this post, I enjoy a unique advantage. As one who prepared the budgets for four consecutive years, I know not only Government priorities but also the requirements of each department. ”
