KTDC tops among tourism companies

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State-owned Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC) is in the forefront among the tourism undertakings in the country in growth rate during the last two years.

The gross income of Rs.60.29 crore registered by various units spread across the State during the April 2007-March 2008 period is a record, according to Chairman of KTDC Cherian Philip.

During the period, KTDC could achieve an operating profit of Rs.7.13 crore. The corporation could also effectively overcome fear among tourists over chikungunya, inclement weather and bad condition of the roads and create record room occupancy this year.
